I love the fact that this lotion is very moisturizing, and you notice the darkening effects over time...I am not a huge fan of the smell though.. Very floral smell kind of reminds me of a bathroom air freshener :)

The best thing about this lotion is that it is very emollient and it absorbs into your skin quickly. I don’t feel like I’m covered in a sticky film after putting it on. I am very picky about lotions and how they feel; most moisturizers I buy end up in my classroom for student use. Although it’s one of the better lotions I have tried, I won’t buy it again after it’s gone. I’ve only been using it for a few days so I can’t really say much about its claim to “gradually darken skin over time, but since it does encourage you to wash hands after use to avoid discoloration I assume it is some kind of bronzing self-tanner. Had I known it was more than just a moisturizer, I wouldn’t have ordered it as I can’t stand that distinct, self-tanning lotion smell. I did use it twice before I realized it and I didn’t notice and discoloration on my palms or around my nails, so I am guessing it’s mild. I haven’t noticed any streaks and so far I’m not at all orange! Though Love My Couture does have a very potent flowery fragrance that I don’t particularly care for, it doesn’t smell like most of the self-tanning lotions I’ve tried. I wouldn’t say that it smells bad, it’s just not for me which it why I didn’t give it a full five stars. I have never liked flowery scents and think roses smell terrible, but more than I hate the flowery smell, I like that it is a self tanner and doesn’t smell like one!
